Smarter Balanced Assessment

 May 5th and May 12th.

In two weeks, we will be conducting our annual Smarter Balanced Assessments for all of our current High School Juniors.

Due to the fact of school being conducted through Distance Learning all year long, we will be testing students through Distance Learning as well.

The test is online, and students will be given instructions on how to access the test through either their school-issued Chromebook or their own laptop.

Though we encourage all students to test, we want to reassure students and parents that the test results will not result in any penalty for students or negatively affect their placement in English or Math; Nor will it negatively affect their college or career chances either.

This year's test results will not be used against our School or District Dashboard ratings.  It will strictly used for assessing for informational purposes on what impact the pandemic had on California schools.

Your students (if they are juniors) will receive:

  1. An invitation to their test session (Zoom link and basic instructions).
  2. Confirmation of their login information.

They will receive this information @ 1 week and again (as a reminder) the day before test sessions.

We will test students in English Language Arts on May 5th and begin testing @ 9:00am.  The test is untimed but should take approximately 3.5 hours.

We will test students in Math on May 12th at the same testing time.  We are scheduling students to test on Wednesdays so they don't miss any instructional time.
